Callanwolde Wedding in Atlanta | A Beautiful Multicultural Celebration

hi, i'm nicole

I'm a portrait and wedding photographer, a lover of coffee, and can listen to acoustic cover songs all day long.

Lai and Austin

There’s something incredibly meaningful about documenting a wedding where two cultures are being honored in one place.

Not just represented, but truly seen, experienced, and embraced by everyone in the room.

Lai and Austin’s wedding at Callanwolde Fine Arts Center was one of those days that held both deep intention and so much joy from beginning to end.

The day began with a traditional Chinese tea ceremony surrounded by Lai’s and Austin’s closest family and friends, filled with moments that carried generations of meaning. But what stood out most wasn’t just the tradition itself. It was the way people leaned in.

Family members who weren’t familiar with the ceremony didn’t stand on the outside of it. They paid attention. They watched closely. You could feel the curiosity, the openness, and the genuine desire to understand something that wasn’t their own.

And at the same time, it wasn’t quiet or heavy the entire time. In between those meaningful moments, there was laughter, conversation, and a sense of ease that filled the space. People weren’t just observing, they were engaging, enjoying, and celebrating together in a way that felt both joyful and deeply respectful.

That same energy carried throughout the entire wedding day.

From getting ready with their closest people to their indoor ceremony at Callanwolde, every part of the day felt like two worlds coming together naturally. Even with rain shifting plans indoors, nothing about the experience felt diminished. If anything, it created an even more intimate space for their families and friends to connect.

The reception brought a completely different kind of energy in the best way, from the excitement of the dragon dance to a packed dance floor that carried the celebration late into the night! It was vibrant, full of life, and a reflection of just how many people came together to support these two.

Weddings like this are a reminder that it’s always about more than just beautiful details or a timeline of events. It’s about people. It’s about connection. It’s about moments happening in real time that will never happen the same way again.

And that’s what I care about documenting most.

Lai and Austin, what a day! It was such a joy getting to document a celebration that held so much meaning while also being so full of life. I’m so grateful I got to capture it all for you.

The Blog

I’m a travel enthusiast who calls Georgia home sweet home. I’m drawn to spontaneous adventure just as much as I value familiar routine — especially slow mornings with coffee in hand and my pup close by.
I believe the best photographs come from real connection and thoughtful intention. If connection and intention matter to you, you’re in the right place.
