Just recently, Carmen and I got to pack our suitcases and hop on a plane to head back to my hometown for Lindsay and Corey’s intimate Georgia backyard wedding! Lately, life for me has been a rollercoaster, and the opportunity to fly back home was a blessing. I was able to say goodbye to my sweet grandfather one last time before God brought him home.
The weather on that Saturday could not have been more perfect! I was excited as we prepared to head over to Salon Spa Venessa. The last time I was at this specific salon, in the heart of downtown Woodstock, was during prom in high school! I got to reminisce of the good old simple days as we approached the brick building.
Okay, so I’ll admit, I didn’t get to meet Lindsay beforehand, like I typically like to do with my brides. Though the second I met Lindsay, I was ecstatic! Not only is she beautiful, but she was the sweetest, kindest, and so laid back! I loved everything about the simple, yet elegant feel to her wedding. From the beautiful navy blue dresses on her bridesmaids, to the wedding dress she wore that was once her mother’s.
As the day progressed, I found myself glancing at Carmen occasionally. Not because I needed to make sure he was in the right place for major photo moments, or because I needed to change out lenses quickly. No, it was because soon, Lindsay and Corey would be him and I. Standing before the both of them during the ceremony and watching how in love they were with one another, I couldn’t help but to think how I would feel on our big day, which is only months away!!
Lindsay and Corey, thank you so much for letting us be a part of such a significant moment in your life! Carmen and I had so much fun with you both! We absolutely adored your family! I’ll admit, we were a bit sad by the end of the day when we had to say goodbye. Both your moms were the sweetest and we enjoyed every moment we got to share with you both, your family, and friends.
We wish you nothing but good things on this journey. We hope that the years to come are filled with all the laughter, smiles, and wonderful moments that we got a glimpse of on this day of celebration!
For now, we hope that you enjoy your honeymoon in Italy, and eat plenty of pasta for us!
I'm a traveling bug who calls Georgia home sweet home. I try and live life with equal parts spontaneous adventure and familiar routine, and cherish the mornings when I can just sit and enjoy my cup of coffee snuggled with my pup! I'm so glad you stopped by and can't wait for us to get to know each other!
