This past weekend, Carmen and I traded the beach and palm trees for the beautiful mountains and greenery of north Georgia!

I’ve been looking forward to Nikki and Alex’s engagement session since when they first recently booked with us for their wedding. When Nikki mentioned she’d like to have their session at Julep Farms in Dillard, Georgia, I absolutely said YES! This beautiful place nestled in northern Georgia just right before the Tennessee border is where she and Alex visited often. We love it when our couples choose a spot for their sessions that’s special to them. It also gives us something new to photograph! The beautiful venue on the farm is actually a wedding venue as well as a great backdrop for prom photos. There’s so much character to the location, from the farm animals, to the adorable dogs and cats that nonchalantly roam the grounds.

The late afternoon we spent with Nikki and Alex in the countryside was (literally) a breath of fresh air! It felt nice to photograph a change of scenery from our usual south Florida sessions. It’s not often we get to photograph in beautiful greenery and hills so I made sure that we took advantage of it’s beauty as much as possible. Even though I originally grew up in Georgia, there’s so many cute hidden gems that I’ve yet to visit. Needless to say, the 2+ hours it took us to drive to the location was well worth it. These two were so laid back and totally up for any crazy ideas we may have had during their session.
