A Rainy Florida Wedding at Deer Creek Country Club

Last month, we had the pleasure of getting to photograph a wedding at Deer Creek Country Club again! But this time it was for Christina and Anthony.

I’m a true believer in the power of prayer. It’s how miracles happen, and how some are able to find the light even in darkest of times. If you’re familiar with Florida weather, you know that it’s unpredictable, like, all the time. Thankfully, with the help of some of the staff at Deer Creek for this wedding, the bride and groom’s fathers and their friends, and with a whole lot of prayer, Christina got her dream of saying I do outdoors.

It’s Time!

The day started just like every wedding day, with us arriving at the bride’s getting ready suite as they finish hair and makeup. The ladies from Uniique Image did an absolute fabulous job at getting the girls hair and makeup ready! I mean, Christina and her girls looked absolutely stunning! Christina wore a jaw dropping dress from Calle Blanche and her ladies’ dresses were from Revelry. Once we were done photographing the bride and beautiful ladies, we headed over to the groom’s suite where Anthony, his groomsmen, and father were relaxing and having some good laughs. We love our guys on wedding days, and I feel like we don’t show them enough love!

Before the ceremony, Christina and Anthony decided to share a first look. We were super lucky since the weather wasn’t playing nice. If you know us, you know we LOVE first looks. Thankfully we were able to get some bride and groom portraits in early!

As the ceremony time was fast approaching, the rain fell. The rain would stop for a short while, then, unfortunately, it would fall again. I can’t tell you how many times the staff of Deer Creek, and their amazing coordinator Giselle, would start prepping the ceremony location, only to have to run back inside. Through this, Anthony had a sense of calm about him. As his bride was tucked away in the suite, he kept saying “We’ll push it back if we have to”. He knew Christina wanted her outdoor ceremony, and God willing, she was going to get it!

Only when the rain decided to rest, and a ray of sunshine shone through the clouds were they all able to truly start. Family members, along with the staff, rushed outside to dry chairs, and clear the pathway from puddles. Leaf blowers and large brooms were used during this time, believe it or not! It’s amazing to see everyone coming together to make things happen on wedding days!
