I hand my ID to the front desk reception. I look around while I wait for her to make a sticker with my face on it that grant me access to the other side of the double doors, where the sound of beeping monitors and the strong smell of hospital becomes more prominent. The waiting room was strangely empty for the evening. Usually where I’m from, the hospital lobby is filled with people at this time of hour. Friends and family, waiting for loved ones. People feeling under the weather. I finally am given the square white sticker that I peel off and plaster onto my shirt. With a cupcake in one hand, and Carmen on the other, we find the room that Elizabeth is in. I couldn’t wait to meet her new sweet angel. Just a few weeks prior, I attended her baby shower for sweet Isabella!
Fast forward one year, and this sweet little angel, Isabella, is turning one already! Her mom is so lucky to have such a beautiful, smiling baby girl! Isabella has a smile that lights up a room the second she ‘crawls’ in (recently just started walking!).
Cake smashes have become quite popular just in the past few years. They definitely didn’t have them when I was at that age. In fact, my baby photos are, well, better kept in a shoe box, on the highest shelf in the back of the closet. I have no doubt I’ll see those babies again on my wedding day. My mom will make sure of it *haha*.
Now, these types of sessions can go one of two ways: either really well, or they can end in tears. Lots of tears. The sweet little angels can either enjoy digging their cute little hands into cake, or absolutely be terrified. When Liz pulled the cake out of the fridge, I was in awe of how simply beautiful it was! She chose the cake design, and it fit perfect with the vision I had for the shoot! The beautiful cake featured is from Sweet Heaven located in Boca Raton, Florida. I had the pleasure of getting to taste another cake of theirs, and it was HEAVENLY, to say the least! If any of you are looking to get a cake for an event, I highly recommend Sweet Heaven! They actually made this cake last minute for Liz!
Isabella’s session today was a win in my book! We even managed to get a few photos of that golden smile!
