When the big day FINALLY arrives, we all want our wedding day to go as smooth as possible, right? This means stressing over last minute details, and going through a mental checklist of everything. With a million thoughts running through our heads the day of, it’s quite easy to overlook the small stuff. This is why I wanted to share with you my bridal wedding details checklist that ensures all of your details aren’t forgotten on the day of!
Carmen and I start the wedding day by arriving to the bridal suite. I walk in and say hello to the bride and her lovely bridesmaids and moms, and get to working on capturing the details. After all, the whole day begins with DETAILS! The ones that the bride has probably spent the last year gathering, and strategically choosing the perfect colors to pair with each other for her big day. The details, no matter how little, deserve to be showcased! Occasionally, some items don’t make it to the bridal suite, such as the invitations that the couple probably spent a fortune on, or even the groom’s ring! It’s not detrimental if all of the details aren’t in one place at the same time, because I can usually send Carmen to fetch them (It helps having a second photographer!) but it allows me to breeze through the details so we can focus on the most important part, the couple and the important people in their lives!
As a photographer I learned early on that it was not only my duty to serve our couples well, but to also do my part to ensure that the day goes as smooth as possible for our brides and grooms. Most of all, that they have FUN. Shooting details is probably one of my favorite parts of a wedding day, because it allows me to get warmed up, and my ‘creative juices’ flowing! In some ways, the details kind of set the stage for the look of the wedding. I absolutely love having enough time to stylize, and photograph everything from the dress, jewelry, invitations, and anything that’s of importance to the couple! This led me to create my very own Bridal Guide for all of my couples to help prepare them for their big day!
In my Bridal Guide booklet that I gift to our couples, I include everything in it that helps them plan their wedding day in a way that allows me to give them the best experience possible! I have my brides gather any details they have before I arrive so that I can walk in, say hello to everyone, give you a big hug, and begin with all of their wonderful details!
