Engagement Session at Matheson Hammock Park in Miami, Florida

When Devon asked me weeks ago if we could shoot their engagement session at Matheson Hammock Park, of course I said YES! These two are getting married next year, and we couldn’t be happier for the both of them! I mean, c’mon, they’re absolutely adorable together!

I’ve known her fiance, Elijah, since the very start of freshman year in high school. I still remember that afternoon, when the bell rang to let us out of the last class of the day. I rushed out of the classroom into the crowded hallway with the rest of the students. I’ll never forget that encounter with Elijah. As I turn around and end up running into this exceptionally tall young boy, the first thing I noticed was this guy who had such a friendly face. High school can be intimidating, and I don’t think I could have endured it without some really good people in my life like him.

Elijah was kind-hearted and goofy funny. I think that’s how we ended up being such good friends from that moment. We’ve seen each other go through some pretty awkward phases through high school. He’s one of the few people in this world to have seen me experience some pretty good times, and some Pretty Bad ones too. Elijah was always that friend I wouldn’t hesitate calling whenever I felt like the weight of the world was crashing down on me. He was also that friend to never sugar-coat anything (LOL, thanks Eli for all the conversations that I didn’t want, but really needed to hear at the time.)

Since starting our business, it’s been quite a blessing. I love what I do. Love making memories for other people and love that they choose us to be a part of their lives. Although every session and wedding we capture gets me emotional, this session is probably on my list. Here we are a decade and a half years later, and one of the most important people in my life is getting married! *Cue the tears*
