Thirty-two degrees. That was the temperature that read on the dash of our Jeep Sahara rental early in the morning before sunrise this past Sunday. Carmen and I bundled up in our winter coats to drive an hour outside of Atlanta for Shannon and Aaron’s engagement shoot. I’ll admit, I’m not a morning person myself, but I was excited and full of energy before 7 AM! Rarely do we get to shoot at sunrise, so this was extra special for us.
This weekend in Georgia, we were graced with sunshine after the state experienced weeks of continuous rain! What perfect timing it was, as my bridal shower and an engagement shoot was to happen! I enjoyed joking with our family and friends that we brought the sunshine to them all the way from Florida. The perfect weather was obviously meant for Shannon and Aaron, who, in my book, gets the ‘Greatest Couple of the Year’ award, for braving through the chilly morning and still managing to look great the entire time!
As we got close to our destination, we were greeted with endless acres of land. After living in south Florida for a while, it’s a breath of fresh air seeing the countryside. Shannon and Aaron picked out their family’s enormous plot of land as their engagement session location. I felt like I was in The Sound of Music as we stood at the entrance of the dirt driveway, overlooking the endless countryside that was exclusively theirs. (Okay, so that movie is probably one of my top classic favorites). Shortly after we began their portrait session, I found more and more reasons to love shooting at sunrise. The light was ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS!
Shannon and Aaron, thank you for letting us be a part of this journey with you. We’re so excited for you both! This is such an exciting time of your lives, as it has been for us. We can’t wait to see you both again on your wedding day!

We're traveling bugs who calls Georgia home sweet home. We try and live life with equal parts spontaneous adventure and familiar routine, and cherish the mornings when we can just sit and enjoy our cup of coffees together! We're so glad you stopped by and can't wait for us to get to know each other!
So, so beautiful! I love the light at sunrise. And it’s so sweet that they decided to shoot on their land!
Beautiful engagement session. I love the soft light.
