Alexandria and Fernando

I’m so excited to finally share Alexandria and Fernando’s beautiful wedding at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens! Looking back on this day now feels especially meaningful because it happened right before the world changed in ways none of us expected.

At the time, things were beginning to feel uncertain everywhere. Within just a couple weeks after this wedding, life as we knew it would temporarily pause and we would all start adjusting to a very different kind of “normal.” I remember feeling incredibly grateful that Alexandria and Fernando were able to celebrate their wedding surrounded by their friends and family before everything shut down.

Shortly after this wedding, like so many others, I found myself spending much more time at home. Nala certainly didn’t mind the extra time together, and those quiet days gave me a chance to reflect on just how much I love what I do and the couples I get to work with.

Alex and Fernando’s wedding at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens in Boca Raton was such a joyful and relaxed celebration. It was the kind of wedding day that reminds me why I love photographing weddings so much.

If you’ve never visited the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens, it is truly one of South Florida’s hidden gems. Tucked away in Boca Raton, the gardens feel peaceful and transportive, with stunning Japanese-inspired landscapes and architecture that make it an incredible location for a wedding. It is actually one of my favorite places to visit when I need a break from the busy South Florida pace.

You may remember Alex and Fernando from their engagement session I photographed not too long before their wedding, also at the Gardens, the very place where they later said their “I do’s.” Returning to the same location for their wedding day made everything feel even more special.

Their entire wedding party brought such a fun and laid back energy to the day. Alex was incredibly calm and detail oriented throughout the entire celebration, which is not always the case on wedding mornings. And Fernando’s groomsmen kept everyone laughing the entire time.

Those are the kinds of wedding days that make you forget you are technically working.

Alex and Fernando, it was such a joy getting to know you both and to photograph your wedding at the Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. Thank you for trusting me to capture such an important chapter of your lives. I wish you both nothing but happiness in this next season together, and I hope your honeymoon was everything you dreamed it would be.

The Blog

I’m a travel enthusiast who calls Georgia home sweet home. I’m drawn to spontaneous adventure just as much as I value familiar routine — especially slow mornings with coffee in hand and my pup close by.
I believe the best photographs come from real connection and thoughtful intention. If connection and intention matter to you, you’re in the right place.
