Charlotte and Luke

Through the years of being wedding photographers, one of the greatest gifts we receive from our couples is recommending us to their friends and families. When we get to work with those who are connected to our brides and grooms, it’s like getting to photograph a friend’s wedding! Charlotte is Emily’s cousin. You may remember her and Bradford from their beautiful Primrose Cottage wedding! Charlotte and Luke’s wedding ceremony at Westminster Presbyterian Church and their reception at Oglethorpe University was yet another beautiful one!

Right before Charlotte moved to Savannah for nursing school, fate brought her and Luke together. They both knew that if things were to keep moving forward, long distance would be part of their relationship. Although distance can have its challenges, these two proved that love does conquer all! Not long after, marriage was brought up during some of their conversations. It then became very clear early on that they wanted to get married as soon as Charlotte moved back to Atlanta after she graduated college. December was the month that they both dreamed of being engaged. When Charlotte wrapped up her semester in the winter and headed back home, she was slightly frustrated that Luke hadn’t mentioned an engagement to her parents yet.

The Proposal

Oh how I do love a good surprise engagement story! After all, it’s one of the best things about proposals! That night, Luke met with Charlotte to figure out dinner plans. Little did she know that he did, in fact, already talk to her parents, and that he had a ring! He got down on one knee in her kitchen and asked for her hand in marriage. Charlotte was every bit surprised, of course! As if the proposal wasn’t enough of a surprise, Luke then took Charlotte to a wine bar where her parents were waiting. The evening then finished at Pure, the restaurant where they had their first date!
